The Eye Cannot Speak

480 (After Emily Dickinson)

If the grass did not obey the wind
Who would answer for that?
Should we love the one
Who has that answer?

So be it — wisdom
Some got it
Some don’t
Tapping as fast as I can
Tap dance to that, tap dancer

The eye cannot speak
Of its reasons
Not even if lightning brushed lightly up against it.
As if!
The eye will not pay
Will not pay again
To the almighty — financer

The eye cannot speak
Of sunrise
But if you had to say —
Right now –.
No give backs —
What’s your answer?
